Guidelines for Membership in Kerala State Unorganized Workers Social Security Board

The Kerala State Unorganized Workers Social Security Board was set up under the Unorganized Workers Social Security Act, 2008 for the welfare of workers working in the unorganized sector in Kerala.

The Board has been working since 2011 for the welfare of its members.

Eligibility for membership

Workers in Kerala who have completed 14 years of age and are under 59 years of age and are engaged in handicrafts, skilled labor, laundry workers, barber-beauticians, cooks, domestic workers, temple workers and self-employed persons can join the Board.

 

 

Membership Registration Procedure

Fill in the prescribed form for membership and submit the worker identification documents to the District Welfare Office
(Aadhaar card) must be produced in person.

Registration fee for membership

The registration fee for membership should be Rs. 75.

Worker’s monthly subscription to Welfare Fund

Worker Rs. 50/-
Employer Rs. 50/-
Government Grand – 10% of the amount paid (10% of every Rs. 100 received as dividend)

Payment Terms

1. At the time of joining, the membership registration fee is Rs. 75 / – and the membership fee for the next six months is Rs. 600 / – (worker Rs. 50 + employer Rs. 50).

2. Subsequent membership subscription Every six months the membership subscription for six months is to be paid in advance to the Welfare Fund at the rate of Rs.600 / -.

Workers can pay the membership subscription as per the prescribed challan directly at the Welfare Fund office or through the bank.

Financing Limit : All welfare benefits are funded by the Board from time to time in accordance with government guidelines.

In order to avail various benefits to the workers, the worker or their nominee should submit to the respective District Executive Office, Kerala State Unorganized Workers Social Security Board.
